Belvedere, the world’s original luxury vodka just recently revealed its new limited edition bottle RED.

What is most exciting about this news is the story and aim behind it. To begin with 50% of all profits go to the Global Fund, the leading financier program to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.

And to support this great cause, #MAKETHEDIFFERENCE campaign Ambassador, Grammy award winner John Legend with the collaboration of celebrated Ndebele artist Esther Mahlangu, designed a colorful and bold bottle (while staying true to Belvedere’s iconic design and touch).

The inspiration behind it came from the campaign’s four values: Security. Support. Change. Unity.

The Belvedere Palace on the bottle is replaced by Mahlangu’s colorful and eye-cathching artwork. The above four values are written on the back of the bottle in Mahlangu’s hand writting proclaiming the collective sentiment for all those joining the fight against HIV/AIDS. And as the campaign Ambassador, John Legend’s signature is featured on the front of the bottle.

For the past five years, they have been able to provide enough funding to support over 30,000 HIV positive women and treatments to stop the transmission of HIV to their babies.

As a treat, Belvedere RED is sharing two refreshing cocktail recipes with us!


1.5 oz / 45ml Belvedere Vodka

1 oz /30ml Bitter aperitif

2 orange wedges

A sprig of rosemary

Spritz glass, filled with ice, topped with equal parts of sparkling water and tonic water.


2 oz / 60 ml Belvedere Vodka

1/3 oz / 10ml sweet vermouth

1/6 oz / 5 ml maraschino liqueur

2 dashes of Peychaud’s bitters

Stir with ice until very cold and garnish with an orange zest.
