Tropical conclusion to Davidoff’s Chefs Edition 2016

chefs Othman Schlegel and Andreas Holder

It’s hard to believe that I just went to the closing event of Davidoff’s Chefs Edition 2016! It feels like yesterday that I experienced my first one back in April!

Each time, not only did I get to meet and taste delicacies made by world renown Michelin starred and Gault Millau points Chefs but I also got to discover places that I wouldn’t have necessarily thought of going to. Switzerland is filled with beauty and wonders and to be able to explore them in such unique way makes it that much more special.

Davidoff concluded its worldwide culinary tour at Tropenhaus Wolhusen, a restaurant housed in a tropical house where the dishes are made using ingredients harvested on-site. A perfect place to go in the winter when craving some of that tropical heat and atmosphere.

The location, the first class attention and service, the abundance of wine (Terreni alla Maggia), Ascona whisky and cigar paired with the feast we got to delight in from celebrity chefs Othman Schlegel (1 Michelin star and 18 Gault Millau points) and Andreas Holder (14 GaultMillau points), all made this evening an unforgettable one.

Best of all, this was probably one of Chef Schlegel’s last big event before he retires next week! Stay tuned for my exclusive interview with him! What a man. What a life.
