Easy homemade and natural tricks for a smooth, blemish-free skin

On July 2015, I shared with you some of my beauty regimen essentials that help my skin looking young. Of course as discussed then, many factors contribute to a healthy and young-looking skin. Using great products and ingredients is one thing but genetics and lifestyle are another. Whilst we cannot affect our natural predispositions, we can absolutely change our lifestyle and daily routines to aid the aging process.

Today, I will share with you my daily habits as well as my Go-to homemade natural treatments which have tremendously helped. I am almost two years older than when I first posted about this topic but my skin looks pretty much the same. Evidently, I notice more and more fine lines on the sides of my eyes, my forehead and along my lips. I try to see them not as nuisance but rather as a living expression of my story, one line at a time.

I’m not going to pretend that I love them but I am learning to accept them – not without a fight however!

DAILY HABITS

Every morning, first thing before eating, I drink a big glass of lukewarm water with half a lemon juice then green tea with a dash of turmeric and cayenne pepper (turmeric is more effective when used with Cayenne). Right after I cleanse my face with the Velvety Cleansing Milk by Yves Rocher, followed with Organic Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar with a soft cotton pad (be mindful not to scrub too much or too hard. Gentle massaging movement will suffice). I wash my face thoroughly and moisturize with an extra virgin, cold-pressed Coconut Oil.

I try to drink as much water as possible but sometimes I must admit that it proves to be difficult! But a trick that has helped me these days is hot water. I drink it like I would a tea but without the tea bag.

I eat a lot of vegetables, zero processed foods and healthy fats like avocado, olive and grape seed oil. I have replaced bread and pasta with quinoa and whole grains. I try to consume as little dairy and sugar as possible, but not always easy because I love my cheese and chocolate!

HOMEMADE MASKS

I – To help fight inflammation and rashes – Coconut Oil | Honey | Turmeric Mask

Homemade | Natural Skin remedies | Fashion & Beauty | Discover Out Loud

Our lifestyle is fast and stressful. It is difficult to stick to a healthy regimen while going from meeting to meeting. We have the best intentions but life has its own agenda. One of the way stress is manifested is through inflammation, rashes and breakouts on the face. This mask is the perfect solution to fight these unwelcomed guests! It’s an easy and cheap home remedy that anyone can do in no time!

Coconut oil, naturally rich in anti-oxidants and healthy acids, is the main ingredient in this mask. Honey is a great moisturizer that fights spots and blemishes. Mixed with anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial turmeric, you get a replenishing, brightening and all-natural stress-reducing face mask!

How-To:

Mix 1 tablespoon of coconut oil with a teaspoon of honey and Turmeric. Mix well. Apply all over your face. Leave in for 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and moisturize with coconut oil. Repeat as many times as possible until blemishes are gone.

II- To help tighten the skin – Banana | Honey | Yogurt Mask

This mixture has helped my skin glow and reduce the fine lines. Best of all, I already have all the ingredients at home which I use for different things!

Banana contains potassium and vitamins E and C which promote a clear and glowing skin.

Yogurt naturally reduces fine lines and wrinkles. The lactic acid found in yogurt helps dissolve dead skin and tightens pores.

Honey is naturally antibacterial, so it’s great for acne treatment and prevention. It’s also loaded with antioxidants, amazing for slowing down aging. And it’s the perfect moisturizer!

How-To:

Mash 1/5 of a ripe banana with the back of a spoon or fork and combine it with 1 teaspoon of raw honey and 1 tablespoon of yogurt. Mix it all well. Apply as a face mask (I also use it on my hands). Leave it on for at least 10 minutes. Rinse off and moisturize with Coconut Oil.

Now enjoy your life and don’t be too hard on yourself!
