Hundreds of die hard cyclists gathered on that day to embark on a 48 hour journey over 1,000 kilometres.
I’m not a rider by any stretch of the imagination and would not begin to pretend I know anything about it. Having said that I can always appreciate dedication, hard work and passion. It was very interesting for me to experience such an event, celebrated and awaited for by so many people.
It was that much more special as I got to experience the beginning of the tour from Maserati’s point of view. As the official partner of Tortour, Maserati went all out . We started at the IWC watches arena in Schauffasen. There we got to met the Maserati team. What a fun and interesting bunch!

- Biggest multi-day, non-stop ultra cycling event in the world
- Race starts and finishes in Schaffhausen, Switzerland
- 1,000 kilometres over 48 hours
- In solo or in a team of 2, 4 or 6 people (male and female)
- For professionals, amateurs, teams, companies and solo riders
- Check points and changeovers (time stations): every 50 kilometres
- In the team contest, only one rider is on the route at a time, the other ones travel in the crew car. They then change for every stage at a time station.
