Iconic Playboy Club NYC relaunches amidst controversy

Bunnies are ‘a symbol of the past’ declared Hugh Hefner over 30 years ago. His 26 year-old son Cooper seems to disagree as he relaunched the iconic Playboy Club on September 15th – “with bunny cocktail waitresses, for members only lounges and an exclusive subterranean spot dubbed the Rabbit Hole”.

Cooper Hefner, along with hundreds of guests, some of whom are household names (Martha Stewart, Ice-T, Coco and HQ host Scott Rogowsky), didn’t seem to be phased by the controversy surrounding it. Apparently, over $2.2 million worth of memberships have already been sold, of those 45% to women!

Robin Thicke, familiar himself with controversy, performed “Blurred Lines,” which lyrics “I hate these blurred lines I know you want it” say it all.

Having said that, I had fun and I was happy to see that the guests, irrespective of their gender, seemed to have been respectful of the bunnies’ space and integrity.

I recommend checking it out at least once.
